Sherene Vismaya is a Jungian analyst and astrologer who ran a number of websites, from personal and professional blogs to independent project sites. She had reached a point where she needed to consolidate all these sites into one location that would be part of her new branding.
The task was to collect information from five different sites, consolidate and import them all into one easy-to-use Wordpress site incorporating already-designed branding. The new site was to be clean, minimalist and focused on text. The important sections to highlight were Project40, services she offered with an easy shopping cart for purchasing, and space for her monthly writings.
The first part of the design process was to go over with the client her numerous sites and decide what content we needed to import for the new site and what sections it can be distributed to, in order to make browsing easier. I took notes on what was most important for her and what she felt was least important, then established a visual hierarchy for information display.
Her main points of focus were a personal blog, her Project40 group, her previous writings under the Jungian Authentic Movement, a list of the different services offered and information + booking links, and a calendar to show where she will be running events.
A number of potential designs were created and reviewed.
Once the client decided on her vision for the layout of the site, we began importing the different blogs. As the content filled in, the client continued to minimize the features to the site, in order to streamline what her users would interact with and that were easy for her to manage on the control panel side.
We landed on a blog-style format for the site and a uniform layout of each screen to bring a focus on her writings.
